History of Almaluu Yurt Camp
The Issyk Kul region and South Shore is famous for its fruit ,including uniquely tart apples and peaches. Almaluu yurt camp served as a soviet collective farm and apple orchard during Soviet years.
In 2014, owner Zhyldyz Asanakunova acquired the property with intent to open a hospitality business or iented toward providing accommodations and cultural experiences to tourists. Zhyldyz believes the camp and tour offerings are ideal for showcasing, as well as preserving, Kyrgyz culture and nomadic experiences reflective of the region and her people.
Today tourists visit the camp seeking to balance harmony of soul, body and mind, and remove themselves from outside noise of daily lives. Almaluu expands new horizons by introducing authentic and natural experiences in a luxury nomadic setting.
